Life looks different now. You still belong in it.
Chronic illness, motherhood, identity and starting again—sometimes all before breakfast.
Honest writing and conversations about finding your way when life takes a turn you didn’t see coming.
A little company for the complicated bits.
For the days you miss your old self, the small joys that catch you off guard, and the new plans made from the sofa.
Writing about living with chronic illness, raising children, and getting to know yourself again.
Before Elle Out Loud
Conversations about changing bodies, motherhood, identity and beginning again. The things you might tell a friend once the kettle’s boiled and “I’m fine” is out of the way.
Listen in, with me and Mitty keeping you company.
Hi, I’m Elle. Still figuring it out, too.
I’m a Tasmanian mum of three living in Norway, writing about chronic illness, motherhood, identity and starting again.
There’s a fair bit of figuring things out as I go. Writing helps. So does a laugh, and occasionally remembering where I put my tea.
Before Elle is where I share some of it. I hope you find a little of yourself here, too.
Stay for another cup.
Pull up a chair. Lying down also counts.
Join me on Substack for honest writing about life looking different, small joys, and finding a little of yourself again. You’re very welcome here.
